Yo, Caspians!
During this Week of Rest, Shadayo and I have been… well, not swamped—but busier than usual! All the pieces presented at the festival have been moved from the Gaia thread to the page called The Equinox Highlights over on the left there. Obviously, we couldn’t move the comments too, but we picked out a few to carry over here that we thought really represented the festival.
Thanks to everyone—seriously everyone because all the members turned up at one point or another! —for taking the time to drop by on the 22ed. Shadayo and I were completely moved by the turnout (we were originally concerned that we should have bugged you guys more about coming). It was heartening to know that force need not be applied.
Anyway, feel free to comment on the festival in general on The Equinox Highlights page! We’d really like to know how the whole thing turned out in our members’ minds.
Until October 1st!

>.< Life really bites.
Hey all! After a long, drawn-out debate between the Head Coordinator and I—one which you weren’t privy to, by the way—we decided to begin initiating the writer’s festivals! ^o~ We know that it was only vaguely mentioned earlier—way earlier—this year, but like a bad case of the flu, it’s returned. With a vengeance.
There are four dates that you should be aware of as of this point, and they have been noted on the site calendar accordingly. Two have already passed... but two are coming up! It is our intention to celebrate the spring and autumn equinoxes as well as the summer and winter solstices! >:D
Aurora has assured me that she possesses less than a clue as to what/when these events are, and so, we shall do what all great scholars do when face with adversity: consult wikipedia!
Dunununununun!
The equinox and solstice occur twice each per year. This year’s dates have been hunted down for your convenience—but they change slightly every year, just so you know.
The equinoxes are either of the two annual crossings of the equator by the Sun, once in each direction, when the lengths of day and night are approximately equal everywhere on Earth. The solstices are either of the times when the Sun is farthest from the equator.
Year: 2008
Spring equinox: March 20
Autumn equinox: September 22
Winter solstice: December 21
Summer solstice: June 20
We really hope you like these upcoming events, as Aurora and myself plan to work hard to make them fun. More information will be made available about them periodically from here on out.
Sincerely most,
Director, Shadayo
Warning, this is a test fire. Do not be alarmed, and do not—I REPEAT, DO NOT—turn on the sprinkler system!
